200 or Less at Victory Gallery

I was talked into doing a group show last week, at Victory Gallery in downtown Portland.  The Pieces were to be created on Friday,  in 8 hours, and displayed later that evening.  I needed a head start, so mine actually probably took close to 14 hours, which is record time for me.  I didn’t think I was going to be ready on time.
Anyway, the show was a great success, a ton of people came out, and a good time was had by all.

Vampira Exhibit at Wonderland

When I was in Los Angeles for my opening in July, I was lucky enough to catch the Vampira photo exhibit at Kat Von D's Wonderland Gallery in Hollywood.   I was kind of expecting to see some of her actual artwork, but it was still pretty awesome.  I think it's still up, so if you're in the LA area, catch it while you can.

Vive' LA Rock - Los Angeles

I apologize for the lack of updates in the past few months.  I've actually been hard at work preparing for a solo show that recently opened in Los Angeles, at Silver Factory Studios.
Preparation came right down to the wire. Getting my work finished, packaged, and shipped before I had to catch my flight was a little too close for comfort, so I didn't really manage to get many decent photos of my work before I had to leave.

Hope and Candice

My wife talked me into laying a thick coat of polyurethane resin to the top of the Hope Sandoval and Candice Swanepoel pieces.  The resulting finish is fantastic, it looks almost like glass.  It was fairly expensive to do, so unfortunately I had to raise the price by $50.
If you're in the Portland area, you can check them out in person at Radio Room 1101 NE Alberta Street, Portland, OR 97211.  The exhibit will run until May 30th 2012.

Part 1 of 2 pieces I've recently finished on these cool wooden boxes I found.  I plan on coating them in a thick poly-resin to give them a glassy look.  They're nearly as tall as I am.

The Gallery Zero

For the past six or seven weeks,  I've been working long hours to put together an exhibit for a group show at  The Gallery Zero
The Gallery is very focused on large scale pieces and bold presentations, so I felt like I had to get big and colorful for this show.  Each of these pieces are 48" x 48", which is a bit larger than I'm used to, but through all the cursing and frustration, I'm really happy with the outcome.  Large pieces just seem to command your attention, and I feel like these certainly do.
All of these pieces are currently available, so feel free to inquire about them if you're interested.

A few updates

Wow, It's been an exceptionally long time since my last update, so I'll try to sum most of it up in one post.
All pieces are sold.

First is a piece commissioned by a bunch of friends to commemorate to life of Brian Perkel, who passed away in August of last year.  Rest in Peace Brian.  This piece is forever on display at The Know
